Hey friends! I’m so excited to share my very first fall capsule wardrobe with you. If video content is more your jam, check out my reel – Capsule Wardrobe Planning for Fall (<1 min long!) for a quick look at it all.
Capsule wardrobes are truly all the craze these days. And for good reason.
If you’ve been following along on Instagram, you’ll know I’m a huge advocate for growing an intentional wardrobe. That means putting very conscious thought into the clothing choices I buy, get rid of, and most importantly, wear and rewear. In the last year, I’ve also incorporated the 5-Piece French Wardrobe (detailed in an older post here), so I’m no stranger to a capsule wardrobe concept.
For this fall season, I decided to do it. I put together a fall capsule wardrobe full of simple, neutral, minimal, and most importantly, comfortable pieces.
Why a Fall Capsule Wardrobe?
As a quick refresher or for those who are new to this concept, a capsule wardrobe is a collection of clothes that can be mixed and matched to create a variety of outfits. It’s truly a simplified way to reduce clutter in your wardrobe, and a way to be more intentional with your clothing choices. With a capsule wardrobe, you’ll have fewer decisions to make when picking out what to wear each day since everything is interchangeable.
In the long run, a capsule wardrobe will save you money since you’ll have a good wardrobe foundation with quality pieces. Clothing pieces that will basically last a lifetime? Heck yes. Clothes will no longer overwhelm you. Instead, you’ll be excited to get dressed everyday!
For me, fall is one of the busiest times of the year. With a capsule wardrobe, I can easily reach for these simple and comfortable pieces over and over again, lessening my decision-making each day while looking stylish at the same time.
My Fall 2022 Capsule Wardrobe
Some quick notes and themes about my fall 2022 capsule wardrobe:
- Consists of mostly neutral tones, which admittedly is what most of my wardrobe is made of!
- Full of quality basics – I had to include items that truly are the base of my wardrobe.
- Consists of mostly casual pieces, as it’s the style I love best, and it’s what works best for my lifestyle.
- There are no hard rules – I’ll still wear other pieces in my wardrobe as I please. Having this capsule just makes getting dressed so much easier – especially on those extra busy days!
- Bonus: putting together this capsule really helped me declutter and organize my closet. I made a conscious effort to look at what I already have, what I haven’t worn in a while, and reasons why I love each item left in my wardrobe. Honestly, it was a very therapeutic experience!
So let’s get right into the item details, shall we?

Love this AND the video too. It’s amazing all the great outfits that can be made from a few basic and classic clothing pieces.
Such a nice collection of fall outfit, they look good on you. I love the variety of sweaters, they are so comfy and fit for cold weather. I love your three piece suit, you look so classy and gorgeous in it, especially that lovely blazer, it compliments the whole outfit. Love it.<3
Hello. I love your style. My only question is, tops, is the current trend to tuck in or leave out? Tuck in the front only or just the front? My daughter saw me tuck in the front part of my blouse and asked me why bother tucking in at all. Please share your thoughts
