My search for the perfect straight leg jean is officially over! Everlane has done it again. While I may be late to the game, it wasn’t until the last two years where I tried their popular The Original Cheeky Jean and The ’90s Cheeky Jean. Two of my most favourite jeans in my wardrobe. Even so, The Way-High Jean exceeded all my expectations. It definitely has a slightly different fit, and actually reminds me of my Levi’s Ribcage Straight Ankle Jean.

Everlane The Way-High Jean
Indicative of its name, The Way-High Jean features a very high rise (12 1/8″), a true straight leg, and a zipper fly. Note the brand’s other “straight leg” styles taper a bit towards the ankle.
I’m normally between a size 24/25 in jeans. I ordered the smaller of the two in this, as I do with all Everlane jeans. Since it’s made of 98% organic cotton and 2% elastane, it’s very forgiving even on the first wear. They will also stretch slightly with wear. I can’t see these stretching too much as I’ve already worn them several times, and they still look like perfection. This is exactly what I appreciate about Everlane denim – they hold their shape and mold to the body beautifully!
Another great thing I appreciate about Everlane denim is the variety of lengths. As a petite person (I’m 5’3”) I like that I can opt for a short inseam length (25.5” in this case). However, knowing my preferred inseam length is between 26-28”, I went with the regular length at 27.5”. The hem perfectly lands right at my ankle, which is exactly what I wanted.
This particular pair is in the core style “Distressed”. It has a raw hem and minor distressing near the left pocket. It’s the perfect medium wash that I’ve been longing for in my closet!

Another Spring Outfit Idea
An outfit I’m so excited to wear this spring! This cardigan from Frank and Oak is another new piece in my wardrobe. It is one of their current best sellers for good reason, with a slightly cropped fit (really complimenting the jean’s extra high-rise) and puff sleeves. Made of 70% organic cotton and 30% SeaCell (another natural fibre), it is truly so soft and lightweight for the upcoming warmer months. I’ve already thrown this into the wash once, and I’m happy to report the black does not bleed into the cream portion of the stripes.
These loafers are another one of my new favourites and a true classic spring staple. I can’t believe I’ve never owned a pair of classic loafers! Now that I have these, which compacts comfort and elevated style all in one, I’m sure I’ll be wearing these nonstop this season.
