It’s been a bit over a year since my fiancé and I moved into the place we now call home. And after a full year, we finally have an almost fully furnished dining room. It’s my newest obsession and it looks exactly the way we envisioned! A neutral, minimal aesthetic was what we were going for. Kind of… well, no, more like exactly like how I curate my wardrobe. Overall, our home embodies a modern minimal theme, so our dining room is filled with exactly that. A modern minimal dining table along with the perfect dining chairs. Boomerang Dining Table – the Perfect Extendable Piece

It took us a while to find the perfect modern minimal dining table. But we finally did, and it arrived at the beginning of July. We wanted something that extends to accommodate more family members or guests when we host. It also had to be relatively deep so it could hold family-style meals. It’s how I grew up eating most of mine! Finally, it had to be reasonably priced so we could easily tolerate its wear and tear. A lot of boxes to check off, while still maintaining a modern minimal aesthetic.
It almost seemed impossible, until we discovered a local furniture store called Revolve Furnishings. Offering high-quality, unique and modern furniture at very reasonable prices, we discovered their Boomerang Dining Table and never looked back. I really love the rounded edges as it reminds me of the EQ3 table we fell in love with last year, but decided it was out of our budget. In my opinion, the softer finish gives off a more elegant vibe. The wood veneer top and traverse, as well as the metal legs were all customizable. I love the metal legs since they give off an industrial, contemporary vibe. We chose black legs to match our black bar stools and a light warm finish for the top and traverse to match the rest of the wood finishes in our home.

Angelo Dining Chairs – to Make a Luxurious Statement

At first, I had no idea what style of dining chairs I wanted. I knew I wanted pieces in a lighter tone, a comfortable fabric, and to make some sort of a bold statement. A few months ago, I happen to fall upon these dining chairs online from Rove Concepts and immediately fell in love. I just love how its legs attach to a bar that wraps around the backrest. To me it just looks so unique!
After reading more about this brand, I discovered it was Canadian, and most of its furniture is handcrafted in their own artisan workshop. With its quality and contemporary designs, its pieces truly integrate into the modern minimal theme perfectly. Showrooms are available in Vancouver, Los Angeles, and Miami.
Fortunately, I had a contact at Rove from a friend, and she was extremely helpful. She had her staff send over swatches so I could feel the fabric contenders and see the colours in real life. In the end, I chose the Chiffon Venice Vegan Suede, a fabric that was actually recommended to me after I sent over a photo of my dining room space. It is honestly so perfect – an off-white shade with light grey undertones. It brings a sense of calm to the space and just feels so luxurious! Rove Concept’s customer service is top notch and I would absolutely order from them again. Not to mention, the chairs were packaged so wonderfully and are incredibly beautiful. It has numerous 5 star reviews for a reason!

Sola Rug – a Piece to Complete the Space
(Dimensions – 6’X9′, shade – Istanbul Pearl)
I’ll admit, I initially intended to replace our current living room rug with this one. Its minimal embossed pattern was intriguing. And it’s currently on sale! Although there are no reviews, the Asha rug has a few 5 star reviews and is made of the same material. So I went for it, and I was not disappointed. After seeing it styled in my dining room, I think I might have to leave it there. I will say it shows markings and dents quite visibly. Our Roomba went over it a few times and left several trails of its wheel marks. Nothing a quick brush with the hands can’t fix, and I think it adds to the character of it!
My fiancé has always wanted a rug in this space. But for me, a full-fledged dining room set up meant completely giving up my outfit photo-taking spot. I’ve now come to terms that I’ll have to forgo this blank canvas for a beautiful dining room setup.

I am determined to replace that dining light (it’s an absolute eye sore!) once our budget allows for it. I had a blast styling this space, and to have it all come together makes me so happy.
