Oh, I’m so excited for today’s post! I’m featuring a brand new wardrobe piece and a longstanding wishlist item of mine. Drum roll… the Spanx Faux Leather Leggings and a few ways to style them.
A cult favourite and the brand’s #1 best seller, for good reason. It’s a true year-round staple that I’m so happy to have for spring. We all know how comfortable a basic pair of leggings are. So, why not elevate an outfit with a faux leather version? Even better, they’re super easy to style.

Spanx Faux Leather Leggings
While Spanx is most known for its beautifully designed and well-made shapewear—which I can easily say I love, since I felt so confident and comfortable in the OnCore Mid Thigh Short on my wedding day—they also offer several clothing options. I’m already a huge fan of their AirEssentials collection (see 2 of their pieces styled here) and their wide leg jeans. In terms of faux leather leggings, I’ve had numerous pairs throughout the years. Admittedly most from cheap fast fashion stores, and none compare to the quality of these. These feature:
- A smoothing waistband to hold everything in
- Premium fabric for a high-quality feel
- No seam in the middle, so no camel-toe mishaps
For sizing, these leggings run small, so be sure to size up. I’m glad the Spanx team sent me a size small, which fits comfortably snug and molds to my body. Mine are in the regular length (30″ inseam), hence the bit of bunching at the bottom of each leg hem. Like many of their other pant options, these also come in petite and tall lengths, with inseams that are 2″ shorter and 2″ longer, respectively. If you’re 5’4″ or shorter, the petite length would be perfect for you!

Outfit 1 – Smart Casual with Oxford Shoes
Okay, I’ll admit this outfit leans closer to casual than smart, but the Oxford shoes give it a nice elevated touch. I opted for my current favourite spring jacket, with a length that pairs perfectly with leggings, and a loose-fitting tee for full comfort. A whole lot of textures going on, but that’s what adds to this outfit’s appeal!

Outfit 2 – Dressy with a Blazer
When I first wore a variation of this outfit (check out the last outfit in this reel), I immediately fell in love with it. The faux leather leggings pair perfectly with a relaxed blazer cinched at the waist. The length of the blazer, even while cinched, is still long enough to cover my behind. It’s my preferred way to style any pair of leggings. Here I opted for an edgy pair of combat boots to dress the overall look down slightly.

Outfit 3 – Casual with Sneakers
As probably one of my favourite ways to style a pair of leggings, here’s a full-on casual athleisure outfit. Styled with a cozy shirt jacket, a basic white tee, and my comfiest pair of New Balance 327 sneakers. Truly a match made in heaven! For even more comfort and extra warmth, swap the t-shirt for an oversized crewneck sweatshirt or loose-fitting hoodie.
