Hey friends, happy almost-end of February! Can you believe it’s almost the 3rd month of the year? It’s been a minute, and as you may have noticed, I took an unintentional hiatus from the blog. Since the end of last November (when we moved into our new house!) I began slacking on a consistent routine. An ideal one for me includes cooking nourishing meals, incorporating physical activity 4-5x a week, and tending to hobbies that keep me happy. Luckily I’ve started to get back into one these last few weeks. And this blog is 100% something I want to incorporate back into it. So I’m excited to be here!
Without further ado, here’s a recap of my outfits for a fun Instagram style challenge that took place from Feb 15 to Feb 19. I had the pleasure of co-hosting #ShopYourWinterWardrbe with Linh of @penny_petite. It was a great way to get creative with what’s already in our wardrobes and have fun with some winter wear. Each day’s prompt listed below will link to the reel I created for it. I have to say, I had so much fun putting them all together!

Day 1: Go-To Winter Outfit Formula
Outfit details: Shirt Jacket – TNA | T-shirt – Encircled | Jeans – Everlane | Boots – L’intervalle (sold out, linked to similar) | Bag – A.P.C. | Coat – old Zara
This was probably my favourite prompt – I loved seeing everyone’s go-to winter outfit formula. No matter the season, I think my ideal outfit formula will always consist of a simple basic top (like a tshirt), a favourite pair of jeans, and a cozy third piece. My last fall outfit roundup is a good indication of this.
Day 2: Monochrome
Outfit details: Coat – Oak + Fort | Cardigan – Tradlands (gifted) | Turtleneck top – Kotn (linked to similar colour) | Jeans – Aritzia | Boots – L’intervalle (almost sold out, similar here) | Bag – Harly Jae
Monochrome or tonal dressing is one of my favourite ways of creating a coordinated look. Here I went with a full contrast to my usual black monochrome (as you can see in this post) and chose a full white/cream outfit. Practical? Depends. But at least I matched the snowfall we were having!
Day 3: Let’s WFH
Outfit details: Sweater – Tradlands (gifted; colours Sienna and Jam are still available) | Pants – Tradlands (gifted; colours Emerald and Earth are still available) | Slippers – Vivaia (gifted, use code HERSIMPLESOLE for 18% off your purchase)
It can’t get any simpler than this. Comfort is key for a work-from-home outfit these days. A thick cotton knit sweater and a pair of elastic waistband pants will definitely do the trick.
Day 4: Add a Splash of Colour
Outfit details: Cardigan – Marks and Spencer (from last year, similar here and here) | Tank top – Frank and Oak (from last summer, similar here and here) | Jeans – Levi’s | Boots – L’intervalle
As someone with a mostly neutral wardrobe, a goal of mine this year is to embrace more colour in my every day wear. I turned to a trusted wardrobe basic, a muted yellow tank top from last summer, for a little pop of colour this time around.
Day 5: Outfit Inspired by a Favourite Hot Drink
Outfit details: Coat – Aritzia (linked to similar colour) | Turtleneck top – Kotn (linked to similar colour) | Scarf – Oak + Fort | Boots – L’intervalle (sold out, linked to similar) | Bag – A.P.C.
Oh this was a fun one! And surprise surprise – many chose coffee as their favourite hot drink, as did I. On days I’m able to treat myself, I’d go for an americano with soy, a chai tea latte, or a Hong Kong milk tea. This outfit tries to incorporate colours combined to produce the black/dark brown/rich brown tones that all my favourite drinks generate.
If you’re ever in a style rut, I encourage you to take part in an Instagram style challenge. It’ll help you get creative with what you already have. Plus, you get to meet some lovely people while you’re at it! Instagram really has an amazing intentional style community. Feel free to let me know which outfit was your favourite out of the bunch 🙂
