How about a little monthly outfit roundup? I’ll share my favourite outfits from the last month that didn’t make it onto the blog, something I anticipate to post during the first week of each month. These are outfits you likely would’ve seen if you’re following along on my Instagram or Tiktok. In case you didn’t know, short-form video is a pretty big thing nowadays 😉 So let’s start off with November! The theme was: easy smart casual outfits for women.
I just love a good outfit roundup. Not only for style inspiration, but also for how the action of getting dressed and making the best use out of our wardrobes is exemplified. Also, putting together outfits is truly one of my favourite things to do! As the months go by, my accumulation of outfit photos keeps growing. So rather than keep them hidden in my ever-growing iPhone album, I want to share them with you.
I’m sure you’ve heard this all week, but I can’t believe it’s December! As we start a new month, it always reminds me of how quickly time is flying by. With wedding planning, growing my content creator career, and maintaining a full-time job + social life, it’s been tough juggling it all. The busier life gets, the less time it feels like I have. But I’m truly loving the process. And I know by doing it all, I’m moving one step closer to my goals.
A Smart Casual Outfit – What does that mean?
When I think smart casual, I think of an outfit that mixes casual and dressy elements for an effortless look. So it’s less structured, but also less relaxed. Which coincidentally, all of the outfits I’m sharing today incorporate. Admittedly, it’s one of my favourite ways to style an outfit. Although most of the ones shown here lean more on the casual side, certain elements lend a hand towards a smarter look.
As well, I’m sharing a few new tops in some of these looks that could easily dress up a casual outfit, including:
- A beautiful brushed cotton shirt from Power of My People
- A tried-and-tested cardigan from Tradlands in black
- A knitwear piece from Sezane (a Paris purchase, so it has a special place in my heart!)
- Two great turtleneck tops to add to my collection, one from WVN and one from Tradlands
Of course, I’m mixing new with old as I style these pieces with some older but reliable wardrobe favourites.

10 Smart Casual Outfits for Women
Outfit 1 Details:
Power Of My People shirt (gifted, use code SIMPLESOLE15 for 15% off), Everlane 90s Cheeky Jean, L’intervalle boots (no longer available, linked similar), Polene Numero Un Nano in Chalk, Ana Luisa necklace (gifted)
I can’t say enough amazing things about this button-up shirt! It’s called The Director – Proper Fit. Not only does it fill a void in my wardrobe, it’s made of the softest 100% cotton, brushed on both sides. I love wearing it on its own like I have here for a smarter look. But there are so many variations to style it. And this heather black colour styles so beautifully with a pair of dark wash jeans. If you’re unfamiliar with Power of My People, they feature beautiful high quality pieces handmade right in Canada.
Outfit 2 Details:
Power Of My People Shirt (gifted, use code SIMPLESOLE15 for 15% off), Kotn Fitted Turtleneck (linked to similar colour), Aritzia The Effortless Pant, Vivaia tote bag (gifted), New Balance 327, Jenny Bird necklace (gifted)
A different take on styling the same shirt as in outfit 1. Wearing a button-up shirt like an open cardigan. As an extra layer, it adds warmth on a chillier day. It also showcases the underlayer and perhaps a statement necklace like I’ve done here. By styling it with a pair of trousers and sneakers, the mix of smart casual is pretty apparent and rather fun!
Outfit 3 Details:
Tradlands Shelter Cardigan (gifted, use code hersimplesole15 for 15% off your first order), Kotn High Neck Tank, Everlane The Original Cheeky Jean (linked to similar colour), L’intervalle Bolt Black Leather boots, Polene Numero Un Nano in Chalk
A new outfit with a new beloved cardigan. I will never stop raving about my Shelter Cardigans (see it styled in Birch 3 ways). I was so happy when Tradlands kindly sent this to me. It is a beautiful, 100% cotton piece that I know will stand the test of time. Since it can be either dressed up or down, it’s truly a versatile wardrobe item. Styled here to create a more polished look, even with super casual elements like blue jeans and chunky boots.
Outfit 4 details:
Sezane Leontine Jumper, Tradlands Monty Turtleneck (gifted, use code hersimplesole15 for 15% off your first order), Everlane 90s Cheeky Jean, L’intervalle Bolt Black Leather boots, Polene Numero Un Nano in Chalk, Ana Luisa necklace
I go into a bit more detail on this Léontine Jumper in a previous post – my favourite Paris find! Here it’s layered over another newer top – the Tradlands Monty Turtleneck. A piece at the top of my list of intentional gifts under $100. I just love this pairing together as they create a chic, casual look. I’m playing around with the 3 colour rule here for cohesivity – black, navy, and off-white.
Outfit 5 Details:
Oak + Fort sweater vest (sold out, linked to similar here and here), Tradlands Monty Turtleneck (gifted, use code hersimplesole15 for 15% off your first order), Denim Forum The Arlo High Rise Straight jeans, Oleada Wavia Bag (gifted), L’intervalle Bolt Black Leather boots, Ana Luisa necklace
Another outfit featuring the Tradlands Monty Turtleneck. And again, playing around with the 3 colour rule, this time with tan, black, and white. Another great way to add layers without extra bulk around your arms is through a sweater vest. I think every wardrobe could use one for a bit of fun and variety!
Outfit 6 Details:
Line + Dot trench coat (very old, similar here and here), WVN Stripe Base Turtleneck (gifted, use code sharon20 for 20% off), Aritzia The Effortless Pant, Oleada Wavia Bag (gifted), L’intervalle mules (old, linked similar), Ana Luisa necklace
Probably the dressiest out of the bunch, as this would make a great office-appropriate outfit. It features another newer top, this time from WVN. This brand has quickly become one of my favourite slow fashion brands. Every piece I’ve received is great quality and washes so well. I picked this turtleneck top out since stripes are my favourite print, and the one I already had didn’t fit me anymore. As you can see, it adds a different kind of interest than one in a solid colour.
Outfit 7 Details:
WVN Edgewood Jacket (gifted, use code sharon20 for 20% off), WVN Stripe Base Turtleneck (gifted, use code sharon20 for 20% off), Aritzia The Effortless Pant, Vivaia tote bag (gifted), New Balance 327, Ana Luisa necklace (gifted)
A variation of the outfit above, swapping out the bag, coat, and mules for more casual pieces. I think this is such a great way to make the best use out of our wardrobe items. Even with the same base, doesn’t it form a completely different look? I love that this WVN jacket looks like a puffer coat, but in a more classic and chic style.
Outfit 8 Details:
Everlane trench coat (no longer available, similar here and here), Able Lily Pullover Sweater, Everlane The Original Cheeky Jean (linked to similar colour), L’intervalle ankle boots (no longer available, similar here and here), Polene Numero Un Nano in Chalk, Burberry sunglasses (use code hersimplesole15 for 15% off your order), Ana Luisa necklace (gifted)
Oh how I love this outfit. This sweater + jean combo is my go-to as I love how the colour tones look together. I played around with tones that would create a lighter and airy look. I found I gravitated towards darker tones throughout the month, so I wanted a refresh! And though I feel a bit awkward wearing sunglasses indoors for photos, they are practical pieces for when the sun is out, no matter the season.
Outfit 9 Details:
Oak + Fort coat (no longer available, similar here and here), Able Lily Pullover Sweater, Everlane The Original Cheeky Jean (linked to similar colour), L’intervalle ankle boots (no longer available, similar here and here), Oleada Wavia Bag (gifted), Ana Luisa necklace (gifted)
Same base as above, swapping in a warmer coat and my beautiful Oleada bag. I go more in-depth on this bag in my other travel go-to’s. I love how it can dress up an outfit and be used as a truly practical everyday commuter bag. Similar to above, the intention of this outfit was to lean more towards light and airy. I think it was a success!
Outfit 10 Details:
Everlane Relaxed Oxford Shirt, Able Lily Pullover Sweater, Aritzia Nanes Pant (no longer available, similar here and here), New Balance 327
This was such a fun one! A preppy casual outfit, and a great way to make use of knitwear in a different way. I love the pop of blue from the shirt – again, I’m playing around with the 3 colour rule here.
I hope you found some value in these easy smart casual outfits for women! Sometimes it’s just about experimenting with pieces you love. Play around with textures, cuts, and even shoes and/or accessories to spruce up or dress down an outfit. And a lot of the times, it all comes together so well! I’d love to know – which of the outfits here was your favourite?
