I absolutely love a good cardigan. They’re some of my favourite pieces in my wardrobe and I’m slowly curating a well thought-out collection. As one of my wardrobe essentials, a cardigan proves to be a versatile staple piece to either dress up or down throughout every season of the year.

Initial Thoughts
I can’t express how grateful I am to be a part of Tradland’s #WornWellCollective. As I continue my journey to a more intentional lifestyle, I love that I’m supporting a company that prioritizes responsible manufacturing and quality over quantity. I chose the Shelter Cardigan in Birch – a beautiful off-white creamy colour. Perfect for my growing neutral closet and for the upcoming A/W season. I’m wearing a size XS, which is my usual size in oversized items (I’m usually a size S in t-shirts). What I love most about this cardigan is it’s fit. It hits perfectly at my hips (I’m 5’2″) and creates the perfect slouchy look that isn’t sloppy. I think this is done by offering a bit of structure throughout the body (hence their description of “gently” oversized) while maintaining bulkier sleeves, starting with a dropped shoulder.
One obvious thing to note is the price tag. This is definitely an investment piece, and is the main reason why I held off on purchasing it myself. My most expensive cardigan cost me around $100 CAD (on sale) and that to me was already pretty up there in price point. Tradlands does offer Afterpay as an installment payment option; though if now isn’t the right time, my code will always be available (HERSIMPLESOLE15 for 15% off your first order) or you can always wait for a sale where it’s historically 20% off.

Other Details I Love
Mid-weight – warm enough to wear as a layering piece for fall and into winter (under a coat, of course), but isn’t overly bulky where a french tuck is impossible.
Large knit pattern – 100% cotton means no piling. AND it’s machine washable. Caring for this piece will be a breeze.
Buttons – specifically in the Birch colourway – match the colour of the knit, resulting in an effortless and minimal vibe.
It’s just such a well-made + timeless knitted piece, and I know it’ll last me for many years to come. One last thing of note is shipping – it’s free worldwide on orders over $200. It took about a week to receive my package (8 days to be exact) in Canada. Though I’m not sure if it was sent through express post – if not, then waiting one week isn’t bad at all!
