Can you believe it’s the last Monday of August 2021?! Time is seriously flying by. As we gear up for the upcoming season (impatiently waiting for fall fashion!), it also means I’ll be going through my busiest months at work. So simple styling and outfits are key to getting through this time. Last week I rounded up my favourite simple summer outfits, most of which will translate into fall with some extra layers. But ultimately, when I think of the simplest of outfits, what immediately comes to mind is a white t-shirt and blue jeans combo, of course!
I’ve gathered a few simple ways I’ve worn this classic combo lately. Ways I’ll definitely be turning to again and again as long as these two items (in any variation) are present in my wardrobe. Spoiler alert: they ALWAYS will be!

Clean and Easy

Clean and easy is the theme here. An outfit that makes for the perfect casual evening out (after a looong work day). I used gold and black accessories to dress up the look. A claw hair clip is added to create an effortless up-do. I just love that claw hair clips are back – it brings back a bit of nostalgia from the 90’s (when I grew up) and is such an easy way to aid in holding hair up. This one from Kov Essentials is great for those with extra thick/long hair. It holds mine up no problem, and I have a lot of it!
With a Cozy Fleece Layer

Hot summer days are officially over (at least here in Alberta), so it’s only fitting to add some fleece into the mix! I had my eye on this shirt jacket for a while and finally snatched it up during the recent Aritzia sale. It’s made mostly of cotton and adds a warm casual feel to any outfit. A perfect transitional piece, and I’m so happy with how it pairs with this classic t-shirt and jeans combo.
With a Linen Top

Okay… I guess I’m still holding on to the last few weeks of summer with this look! I added a breezy, breathable linen layer that’s oversized enough to comfortably wear a t-shirt underneath. As we’re heading into the last leg of summer, a long-sleeve version would probably work better. But instead I’m making use of what I already have and will layer over it when necessary. Bonus that the double sleeves provide some extra warmth.
