HELLO from this side of the world! It’s been a minute since I’ve posted on the blog. I’ll have to admit, productivity was lower in June and July as we experienced some beautiful summer weather. I spent most of my spare time enjoying the sunshine (walks/bikes/patios) and spending time with dear friends. Mostly to make up for lost time!
I’m back today with a fun little post where I’m showcasing my tiny collection of coloured summer wardrobe items. As I continue on with my wardrobe approach, I’ve focused mainly on curating neutral coloured items to create a more cohesive, functional wardrobe. I wouldn’t say I’m afraid of colour – it’s just more of an afterthought when I purchase new pieces. My closet is definitely lacking in that department!
To incorporate more interest into my summer wear, however, I’ve added some colour in the form of items at the top of my wardrobe essentials wishlist. Aka: t-shirts and tanks! Since it’s now August, I’ve styled these looks for milder weather as the hot summer days begin to dwindle down. 🙁

Monochrome Blue
Outfit Details:
T-shirt – Encircled (gifted) | Jeans – Everlane | Sandals – Birkenstock (similar) | Bag – Herschel | Necklace – Sheena Marshall Jewelry (gifted) | Earrings – Mejuri
First up is the Fair Crew Neck from Encircled that was kindly gifted to me a few months ago. Blue is my favourite colour so I was thrilled with this piece in the shade Ocean. It’s a lovely vibrant blue, and overall I love it’s ease and fluidity, as well as the simple crew neckline. I’ve paired it here with some comfortable blue jeans to create a bright blue monochrome look.
Cropped in Pink
Outfit Details:
T-shirt – TNA (colour sold out, similar here) | Trousers – Wilfred (sold out, similar here) | Mules – Maguire Boutique | Baguette Bag – Vintage Fendi | Earrings – Sheena Marshall Jewelry (gifted) | Necklace – Able
In a recent Instagram post I talked about my new found love for cropped t-shirts for summer (+ quick thoughts on my sustainability journey). Loose fitting and no tucking required – a perfect combo for hot summer days! And still in the form of the ideal wardrobe staple. I know a cropped top isn’t for everyone – it all depends on how cropped a certain piece really is, and how long one’s torso is. For me, this ideally hits right at my waist. During the recent Aritzia sale I purchased a total of five – this mousse pink colour being one of them. Paired with high waisted trousers and mules, it creates a smart casual look that I absolutely adore.
Yellow Refresh
Outfit Details:
Tank Top – Frank and Oak (sold out, similar here and here) | Jeans – Denim Forum | Sandals – L’Intervalle | Bag – Harly Jae | Earrings – Mejuri | Necklace – Able
Yellow is a true indication of summer for me. So I had to get a racerback tank top in a beautiful, slightly muted yellow shade. I love it paired with almost anything to give off an effortless summer feel. It really brightens up any outfit! Here I went full force with the yellow, white and beige for a head-to-toe refreshing look.
There you have it! If you’re hesitant to incorporate colour into your outfits, I hope this gives you an idea on how to do it in the simplest of ways. Focus on your wardrobe staples or your most worn pieces, and pick up a few in some fun summer colours. Happy summer styling!
