Today we’re focusing on an absolute spring staple – the classic trench coat. Not just ways to wear it, but ways to casually wear it. Comfort and simplicity is key here. And if you didn’t already know, I love a good juxtaposition, which includes adding a more structured/chic outerwear piece to “tidy up” a casual outfit.
The featured coat is The Modern Trench Coat from Everlane purchased last August, first seen here in a post from last fall. Unfortunately it’s been sold out for a while, but they now offer a newer drape version. Their popular Long Mac Coat and ReNew Mac Coat are also great contenders for a similar look.

Outfit 1 – with a Hoodie and Joggers

For ultimate comfort and extra warmth on windy spring days, I like to reach for this hoodie and jogger combo. The combat boots and belt bag add some interest, while the trench coat really helps pull the whole look together. I love how accessories & outerwear can do all that to an otherwise very casual outfit!

I just love this combination of a cream sweater + lighter blue jeans. Paired with a simple trench coat, this whole colour palette gives me all the spring feels. Not to mention, overall it’s an extremely wearable and comfortable outfit.

I’m so excited to bring my cropped t-shirts back in rotation! They were great summer staples for me last year, and prove to be great layering bases for spring as well. Paired with wide leg pants and Converse Chuck Taylor sneakers, it’s another casual chic look that doesn’t skimp out on comfort.
