Similar to my past thoughts on spring fashion, I was never a big fan of summer style. In fact, I hated it. I always felt uncomfortable, stuffy, and not very cute in whatever I was wearing. But after growing an intentional wardrobe, I realized the main reason for this was because I was missing the key summer wardrobe essentials made of comfortable and breathable fabrics. So friends, if you ever feel like you have nothing comfortable to wear in the hot summer heat, just remember: cotton and linen will be your saving grace!
These are the two fabrics I focus on when I curate an ideal summer wardrobe. And this is what makes me wildly excited for summer fashion this year. Uniqlo U Crew T-Shirt
It wouldn’t be a complete list of timeless wardrobe essentials if a white t-shirt in 100% cotton wasn’t included! My new favourite is the U Crew Neck from Uniqlo, made of substantial fabric that looks sleek and classic. It truly is a year-round piece and a summer wardrobe staple.

As one of the newest additions to my wardrobe, this POMP long-sleeve linen shirt is a must-have for any summer wardrobe. It’s made of 100% high quality linen with a classic silhouette. Keep in mind that linen wrinkles easily, which I personally don’t mind since I love an effortless lived-in look.

Frank And Oak The Organic Cotton Rib Tank in Bright White
You really can’t go wrong with a 100% cotton racerback tank top as a quality summer staple. Wear it alone as an elevated basic with statement jewelry or underneath a lightweight layer. I’ll be wearing mine with button-up shirts all summer long! The options are truly endless with this piece.
Uniqlo Linen Wide Pants
Another new piece in my wardrobe and I’m absolutely in love with them. This pair is great for hot summer days when you still want leg coverage. My obsession with Uniqlo’s wide-fit pleated pants is quite obvious (I now have 3 pairs!) and these in a linen-blended fabric and similar fit did not disappoint. The fabric is slightly see-through, which is expected of any light-toned linen piece.

Another piece from POMP that I’ve had for a few years now, similar to the shirt featured above, but in a more relaxed silhouette and a short sleeve version. Made of 100% high quality linen and flows so beautifully and effortlessly.

Agolde Dee Denim Shorts
I’ve gone through my fair share of denim shorts of all lengths and sizes. These shorts are the first that felt amazing upon first wear with plenty of coverage. I’m normally a 24/25 in denim and went with 25, though I could have sized down since they’ve stretched after several wears. They’re a splurge-worthy piece with a timeless silhouette – a 3.5″ inseam and around a 12″ front rise.

A 100% cotton sweater is necessary for cooler summer days and evenings, so I’m excited to have the Leontine jumper in my arsenal as a breathable and stylish knitwear piece. The details of this sweater are immaculate – my favourite being the buttons and relaxed silhouette.

Everlane Way-High Jean in Distressed
Another piece for those cooler summer days and evenings and a favourite jean style of mine. I love Everlane jeans specifically for their quality and fit, and I was immediately drawn to the extra high rise on the Way-High jean. They feature a true straight leg, lending well to a contemporary and comfortable fit.
Tradlands Nico 2.0 Dress
Lastly, it wouldn’t be a true summer wardrobe list without a dress! This one features a lovely babydoll silhouette for a playful adult twist. Made from a 100% crinkle cotton that is both comfortable and easy to take care of. Plus, it has pockets!
