How to Style a Winter White Sweater

Happy hump day, lovelies! Another Wednesday, another blog post 😉

I ventured out with some friends to Lake Louise this past weekend, and I can’t help but showcase my love for that feeling of being one with nature. It’s the only time I actually LOVE Alberta for what it has to offer. It’s also the only time I’m willing to stay outside and endure the cold!

The snow covered earth is truly amazing. Like a real winter wonderland. The crisp fresh air; the sound of skiers & snowboarders gliding/carving through the snow. I love it all so so much. Snowboarding is one of my favorite things to do, and being able to enjoy this activity a few times a year is such a blessing. This was my first trip out this season, and I’m hoping it won’t be my last. The plan is to head out of the province to BC, which is something we try to do at least once a year in January/February.

Now on to this week’s look – I’m sharing a simple outfit that you can easily put together this season. It features an off-the-shoulder knit sweater inspired by the white of winter!

Sweater – Forever 21 (similar here/here/here)
Jeans – Dynamite (similar here/here/here)
Bag – Rebecca Minkoff (small version here)
Boots – Aldo (on sale for $55!)

I find that a white sweater can be a great staple for this time of the year, as it lightens up the mood and pairs well with almost any kind of outfit, and with really almost any color! Balance out an off-the-shoulder-sweater that exposes your shoulders with a thicker fabric, such as acrylic or wool. Or go for a mock-neck or turtleneck sweater, providing you with some extra warmth around the neck area. And of course, an over-sized fit will give you that extra comfort, and hide any additional winter weight you may have gained from the holiday season!

Feel free to go a little crazy with the accessories! Opt for brighter colors, different textures, and even prints that make a statement – this is what makes a white sweater so versatile. It just works with everything you throw on! I’ve seen so many IG fashion influencers style a white sweater with leopard print – boots, pants, you name it, I’ve probably seen it. And it always looks GOOD. Unfortunately I’m not quite brave enough to pull off leopard print just yet, but here I’ve styled my white sweater with these amaaazing navy fabric booties (which by the way, are on sale for $55!).

How would you rock a white sweater in the winter?

Ooo, what a simple yet eye-catching outfit! I often forget to wear color and prints in the winter and get stuck in greys and black. Great idea adding the richly colored boots!
