Is anyone else obsessed with ruffles & unique hems this season?
You really can’t go wrong with the classic tee and jeans combo. But it’s always fun to add some color, flare, and subtle detailing to these classic pieces. See: the ruffle draping, open “cold” shoulder, and bright berry color of this shirt; the unusual twisted hem and high waist on these skinny jeans. This outfit was put together for a fun 90’s night out this past May long weekend. Music from the 90’s/2000’s all night long, can’t go wrong with that! Not that I was going for a 90’s inspired outfit—that would require more of a loose fitting sweater and some mom-fit pants! I probably wouldn’t have much of a problem putting that kind of outfit together, though 😀
At first glance, the color of this shirt immediately screams S P R I N G to me, and the $40 price tag made it that much more appealing. If this color isn’t your thang, it comes in a gorgeous teal, too. Due to its bright hue and intricate details, I opted for no jewelry or anything flashy up top to keep all focus on the ruffle overlay and “cut-out” features. Features that were pure love at first sight! The fit of this shirt tucks nicely into any pair of high waisted jeans, and it’s comfort warrants its consistent wear. It also proves to be a lot more convenient than a bodysuit.
On another note, I’ve just noticed that I have a pretty nasty habit of rolling up long sleeves. I don’t know what it is, but I love the ¾ length look (and possibly the convenience of hand-washing) and this was clearly no exception!
