Distressed To Impress

Ah, Monday. ☕️

Let’s kick off this work week with a first of firsts, an outfit post, shall we?

If I really had to describe my style in a few words, it’d probably be casual oversized comfort. Standing at 5’2, I actually love it when an outfit consumes my petite frame. It’s like I unintentionally aspire to look like the Olsen twins sometimes. After all, they’ve built a pretty awesome empire that I’m just slightly (very) jealous of.

I’m also a huge sucker for denim tops. And I can’t help but fall in love with the trend that’s been blowing up the last couple of years – you know, the one where they deliberately create holes and leave raw hems in your clothing. Distresses that our wonderful mama’s would fix up for us back in the day!

Though if we’re being honest here, when I first purchased this jacket I thought it was a bit too distressed, so I ended up cutting off a lot of the threads hanging from the bottom raw hem. I also want to patch up areas where one wrong slip of a finger and I’ll likely tear a huge unforgiving hole. A few tweaks here and there, and it’ll be the perfect oversized denim jacket.

A bit about these leggings and t-shirt – I’ve had them for years now and they’re both staples in my wardrobe. They’re still in GREAT shape. I picked them up in an underground shopping district in Seoul, Korea, for something like $5 & $10. Fantastic quality for a quarter of the expected price. If you’re ever vacationing abroad, you HAVE to check out their underground/street shopping areas, no matter how cheap the signs say it is. You’ll be surprised with what you can find as a quality OOTD staple.
