TGIT! 🙂 I figured I’d put up an OOTD post before the extra long weekend (hooray to 4 days off 😀 😀 ). I’ve gotta say, I don’t even remember the last time I was able to do whatever I want on an Easter long weekend, work-free, as I’ve worked through tax season for the last several years of my life. So this weekend will be pure joy for me! 🙂 🙂
Anyways… enough with the emojis, let’s get on with this post…
I almost forgot how cold Edmonton can get with the wind chill, even in the Spring time. Looking out at the bright skies and 12°C forecast this past weekend was truly deceiving. This outfit was totally unplanned, and really my intention was to showcase a festival-inspired one, seeing as how ya know, festival season has arrived! (I still have yet to check out Coachella at least once in my lifetime…)
But, I was pretty much dying outside in the cold, so my boyfriend, Henry, reminded me that we live in Edmonton and suggested that I change into some layers that were more “weather appropriate”… and that I did! Not to mention, this outfit was 10x more comfortable.
This turtleneck sweater is my absolute fav – it’s soft, warm, and (the best part) machine washable, yet the quality is superb and still maintains after each wash.
The jacket itself was a gift from Henry just this past Christmas. It’s a pretty hefty splurge (I’m forever grateful) but in comparison to other real leather jackets, Mackage seems relatively more affordable, particularly the ones made exclusively for Aritzia. I’ll likely be wearing this every single year until I’m old & wrinkly and unable to care for or deal with leather 😀 I wanted to exchange this for a size up, but was told by a few style experts at Artizia that it’s actually best to size down as it stretches like crazy. And since I’ve barely worn this, it’s feelin’ a little tight on my pipes… hah. Though I’m sure it’ll stretch out in no time!
And these platform mules! There’s something about “platform” that really gets me. I think it’s because it brings me back to my childhood… SPICE GIRLS, anyone? I know my feet look a little bare compared to the rest of this outfit, but I just refused to switch out of them after my outfit change since I’m starting to love these so much. Did I mention they’re only thirty-five dollars?
Stay warm & cozy, friends!
